Introduction:
Corticosterone is a steroid hormone belonging to the category of glucocorticoids, which are produced in the adrenal cortex of vertebrates. CRH (corticotrophin-releasing hormone) is a hormone released by the hypothalamus in stress conditions. The secretion of this hormone eventually leads to the secretion of corticosterone hormone. In habituated penguins, hormone secretion of CRH will be less, which would contribute to lesser secretion of corticosterone.
