To predict:  The percentage and type of genotype of Huntington’ disease when the mother is heterozygous and the father is normal.

Introduction: According to Mendelian inheritance, a gene has a pair of alleles, out of which one is dominant and the other is recessive. The dominant allele masks the expression of the recessive allele and expresses itself. A lethal gene is a gene that is capable of causing the death of the organism.

To predict:  The percentage and type of phenotype produced when the mother is heterozygous and the father is normal.

Introduction: When both the alleles of a gene are identical, they are called homozygotes. If one allele is dominant and the other allele is recessive, they are known as heterozygotes.
