To explain why the two percentages are so different.

Explanation of Solution

In a study, two female statistics students asked a random sample of $60$ high school boys if they have ever cried during a movie. The study taken place in two groups: the first half group were asked directly and the other half group were asked anonymously.

Thus, in the first half group of the high school students $63\%$ of the students answered “Yes”, while in the second half group only $23\%$ of the students answered “Yes”. Thus, the percentages are from the different groups of the students which were separated by the method of collecting survey.

Thus, the method of the first group is more appropriate as the students are directly facing the female statistics students so they cannot give false answers but in the different group they are not facing the female students directly so there can be the chance of the biasness in the answers of the high school students. Thus, they are different.
