Introduction:

The herbivorous minnows feed on the plants for their survival, whereas the carnivorous minnows feed on the insects. On the basis of food habits, the minnows have different teeth on the pharyngeal jaws.

In a study, researchers compared the relative gut length in four species of herbivorous minnows and four species of carnivorous minnows, the results are shown in the graph below.
