Interpretation:

The reason regarding the nonzero entropy of ice at $T=0$ has to be explained.

Concept Introduction:

In statistical thermodynamics, entropy is defined as a measure of molecular randomness.  The value of entropy which is obtained with the help of Boltzmann formula is termed as the statistical entropy.  The Boltzmann formula is expressed as;

  $S=k\ln W$

In a sample, each and every arrangement of the molecules results in a distinct state which is called a microstate.  Therefore, the value of $W$ is equivalent to different microstates having the same energy.
