Summary Introduction

Introduction: The cells have different size as per their diameter and volume ratio.“Cell surface to volume ratio” is important to maintain the cell functions. A small sized cell have high surface area ratio. A high surface to volume ratio is good for the exchange of materials between the cell and its environment. Larger organism has more number of cells instead of large cells to facilitate the better exchange of materials.
