Mass and Weight
Scientists measure an object’s mass in kilograms and its weight in Newtons. If you know the amount of mass of an object, you can calculate its weight, in Newtons, with the following formula:
Weight = Mass × 9.8
Create an application that lets the user enter an object’s mass and then calculates its weight. If the object weighs more than 1000 Newtons, display a message indicating that it is too heavy. If the object weighs less than 10 Newtons, display a message indicating that it is too light.

- Retail Price Calculator Create an application that lets the user enter an item's wholesale cost and its markup percentage. It should then display the items retail price. For example: If an item's wholesale cost is $5.00 and its markup percentage is 100 percent, then the item's retail price is $10. If an item's wholesale cost is $5.00 and its markup percentage is 50 percent, then the item's retail price is $7.50. The program should have a method named CalculateRetail that receives the wholesale cost and the markup percentage as arguments and returns the retail price of the item. In addition, there should be the name of the Wholesale Company displayed (be creative). If the cost is over $500, display a $20 discount on the retail price. For example: If an item's wholesale cost is $600.00 and its markup percentage is 100 percent, then the item's retail price is $1,180. ( Markup = $600 * 100% = 600 Retail Price = $600 + $600 - $20 (wholesale cost + markup - discount)arrow_forwardPython programming language You will be creating an application to calculate the maximum amount of contribution a person can make to a Roth IRA based on their age and income. Over 50 years old and your contribution limit goes up from $6000 to $7000 dollars. However, if the person is married and the combined household income is over $206,000 a year, or a single person with income over $139,000, you are not allowed to contribute. Write an application that asks the user their age and their income. Using this information use a nested if statement to calculate the maximum allowable contribution.arrow_forwardRetail Price Calculator Create an application that lets the user enter an item’s wholesale cost and its markup percentage. - In physics, an object that is in motion is said to have kinetic energy. The following formula can be used to determine a moving object’s kinetic energy:KE = 1/2 mv2In the formula KE is the kinetic energy, m is the object’s mass in kilograms, and v is the object’s velocity in meters per second. Create an application that allows the user to enter an object’s mass and velocity and then displays the object’s kinetic energy. The application should have a method named KineticEnergy that accepts an object’s mass (in kilograms) and velocity (in meters per second) as arguments. The method should return the amount of kinetic energy that the object has.arrow_forwardSales Tax and Total Create an application that allows the user to enter the amount of a purchase. The program should then calculate the state and county sales tax. Assume the state sales tax is 4 percent and the county sales tax is 2 percent. The program should display the amount of the purchase, the state sales tax, the county sales tax, the total sales tax, and the total of the sale (which is the sum of the amount of purchase plus the total sales tax).arrow_forwardTheater RevenueA movie theater only keeps a percentage of the revenue earned from ticket sales. The remainder goes to the movie company. Create a GUI application that allows the user to enter the following data into text fields: Price per adult ticket Number of adult tickets sold Price per child ticket Number of child tickets soldThe application should calculate and display the following data for one nights box office business at a theater: Gross revenue for adult tickets sold. This is the amount of money taken in for all adult tickets sold. Net revenue for adult tickets sold. This is the amount of money from adult ticket sales left over after the payment to the movie company has been deducted. Gross revenue for child tickets sold. - When an object is falling because of gravity, the following formula can be used to determine the distance the object falls in a specific time period:d =1/2 gt2The variables in the formula are as follows: d is the distance in meters, g is 9.8, and t is the amount of time in seconds that the object has been falling. Create an application that allows the user to enter the amount of time that an object has fallen and then displays the distance that the object fell. The application should have a method named FallingDistance. The FallingDistance method should accept an object’s falling time (in seconds) as an argument. The method should return the distance in meters that the object has fallen during that time interval.arrow_forwardCreate an application that calculates a car’s gas mileage. The formula for calculating the miles that a car can travel per gallon of gas is: MPG=milesgallonsIn the formula MPG is miles-per-gallon, miles is the number of miles that can be driven on a full tank of gas, and gallons is the number of gallons that the tank holds. The application’s form should have TextBox controls that let the user enter the number of gallons of gas the tank holds and the number of miles the car can be driven on a full tank. When the Calculate MPG button is clicked, the application should display the number of miles that the car can be driven per gallon of gas. The form should also have a Clear button that clears the input and results, and an Exit button that ends the application. If the user fails to enter numeric values, display an appropriate error message and do not attempt to perform calculations.arrow_forwardC# onlyarrow_forward
- Paint Job Estimator A painting company has determined that for every 115 square feet of wall space, 1 gallon of paint and 8 hours of labor will be required. The company charges $20.00 per hour for labor. Create an application that allows the user to enter the square feet of wall space to be painted and the price of the paint per gallon. The program should display the following data: • The number of gallons of paint required • The hours of labor required • The cost of the paint • The labor charges • The total cost of the paint jobarrow_forwardTip, Tax, and Total Create an application that lets the user enter the food charge for a meal at a restaurant.
