Introduction:
The reproductive cell of the male is calledsperm. It is derived from the Greek word ‘Sperma’ which means ‘seed’. The reproductive system of the male is specially designed for the production, storage, and transport of sperms. During spermatogenesis, sperms are produced.
A uniflagellar (single flagella) sperm is referred to as a spermatozoon for motile sperm cells and spermatium for non-motile sperm cells. The human sperm cell is haploid. The main function of the sperm is to fertilize the female’s egg to produce a new life form (or organism).
