A nutrient is defined as a substance which is used by an organism to survive, grow and produce offspring’s. Nutrients are obtained from diet. There are seven different types of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, fiber and water. It is not synthesized in the body and must be taken from diet.
