To explain:
The effect on sensation on the fingers, if a person had an accident that severed a small nerve required to move some of the fingers of the right hand.
Introduction:
Humans have elongated and bilaterally symmetrical body with specialized nervous system which consists of neurons axons bundles which together form the nerves and these nerves extend in the body and communicate with the cells of the body. The integration of neurons is included under the central nervous system and the travelling of information in and out of the central nervous system by neurons form peripheral nervous system. Spinal cord and brain together form central nervous system and in peripheral nervous system, ganglia and nerves act as key element.

- 2. When touching the surface of a flask with water, the temperature of which is +40oC, with the bundles of fingers, a person first feels the smooth surface of the flask, and only then - heat. Explain the reasons for such a sequence of the formation of sensations. Name which pathways transmit information from the tactile, thermal receptors of the skin of the bundle of fingers to the sensory area of the cortex.arrow_forwardAction potential frequency in phasic receptors with a prolonged stimulus..... action potential frequency in tonic receptors with a prolonged stimulus. greater than less than equal toarrow_forwardWatch this video (http://openstaxcollege.org/l/motorpathway) to learn more about the descending motor pathway for the somatic nervous system. The autonomic connections are mentioned, which are covered in another chapter. From this brief video, only some of the descending motor pathway of the somatic nervous system is described. Which division of the pathway is described and which division is left out?arrow_forward

- 1. Make a model or draw 3 multipolar neurons. Imagine you had something crawling on your arm. The first is a sensory neuron, getting its information from the skin and sensing the movement. The second is an interneuron. It relays information from the first (sensory neuron) to the CNS. The third is a motor neuron. It begins in the CNS but leads all the way to the muscle, so that you can move the fingers and scratch the area. On your images/model the "dendrites" should be blue, "axon" should be green and "soma" should be yellow. As you connect them to each other, take notice in which areas are the receiving end, and which are the transmissive ends.arrow_forwardHi, Descending pathway that inhibit pain stimulates inhibitory interneueons in the spinal cord.
