Chapter 38.1, Problem 2CC
Summary Introduction

To explain:

The effect on sensation on the fingers, if a person had an accident that severed a small nerve required to move some of the fingers of the right hand.

Introduction:

Humans have elongated and bilaterally symmetrical body with specialized nervous system which consists of neurons axons bundles which together form the nerves and these nerves extend in the body and communicate with the cells of the body. The integration of neurons is included under the central nervous system and the travelling of information in and out of the central nervous system by neurons form peripheral nervous system. Spinal cord and brain together form central nervous system and in peripheral nervous system, ganglia and nerves act as key element.

Bipolar neurons: Group of answer choices -are motor neurons -detect touch and vibration -are found in the head -have many axons   During an earthquake, which type of sensory receptor would sense the fact that your body is shaking? Group of answer choices -Baroreceptors -Proprioceptors -Tactile receptors -Chemoreceptors   Which of the following is not at least partially overseen by the brainstem? Group of answer choices -visceral motor functions -regulation of the heart -coordinating muscle movements to produce smooth movement -regulation of respiration   Which of the following is an incorrect association of brain region and ventricle? In other words, which ventricle is not located in the respective brain region? Group of answer choices -third ventricle: midbrain -lateral ventricles: cerebral hemispheres -fourth ventricle: medulla oblongata -fourth ventricle: pons
DRAW IT The reflex that pulls your hand away when you prickyour finger on a sharp object relies on a neuronal circuit withtwo synapses in the spinal cord. (a) Using a circle to represent across section of the spinal cord, draw the circuit. Label the typesof neurons, the direction of information flow in each, and thelocations of synapses. (b) Draw a simple diagram of the brainindicating where pain would eventually be perceived.
If your shoes are too tight and causing pain which pathway is associated with this stimulus:  Corticospinal pathway? Spinothalamic pathway? Dorsal column-medial lemniscal pathway? Descending pathway?
