Arabidopsis plant has a number of different phytochrome genes like phyC, phyA, phyB, and phyD, which together determine various important developments in the plants. The developmental pathway influences the determination of leaf area and length of the leaf. These genes may have overlapping, synergistic, or redundant roles in these development processes.
