Concept Introduction:

The priming of the naïve $\text{B}$ cells by the specific antigen protein peptides causes the formation of the effector $\text{B}$ cells and memory $\text{B}$ cells. The memory B cells are inactive but have recognition for the antigen for which the body was previously exposed. The effector $\text{B}$ cells secrete the antibodies against the pathogens and degrade them to prevent the spread of the infection.
