Insulinomas are tumors that affect pancreas and it is derived from ß-cells. Insulinoma is a rare type of neuroendocrine tumor. It is also known as islet cell tumor. Insulinomas belong to the functional PNET (Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor) group as they increase the secretion of insulin.
