Introduction:

Gastric juice is secreted by the stomach and it helps in the digestion of the food. Gastric juice contains hydrochloric acid (HCl), mucus, rennin, and pepsin (a protease). It is strongly acidic due to the presence of HCl and has a very low pH (1 to 3).
