Introduction: Plants are non-motile living beings that are capable of producing their own food by utilizing the sunlight, carbon dioxide and water. They form the kingdom Plantae that includes all the plants such as trees, shrubs, bryophytes, and pteridophytes. The leaf consists of various tissues. A layer of epidermis is present in the upper and lower surface of a leaf blade. The two mechanisms by which woody plants increase its size are primary growth and secondary growth.
