Question
Chapter 33.2, Problem 3C
Summary Introduction
To determine: The way by which the functions of apical and lateral meristems relate to primary and secondary growth.
Concept introduction: In plants, the growth is throughout their whole life. This is due to the presence of meristems. These meristematic cells divide continuously and lead to the formation of new cells, which are further elongated and differentiated. Meristems are of two types: lateral meristem and apical meristem.
