Chapter 32, Problem 7TYU
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The process of excretion is very much important for the removal of waste from the body. The nitrogenous waste can be ammonia, urea and other toxic waste. The metabolite ammonia is toxic and is formed by the urea cycle in the liver. The ammonia molecule is toxic and to remove it from the body the organism require huge amount of water.  Ammonia is the waste product of various fishes and aquatic organisms, and some terrestrial invertebrates and reptiles secrete uric acid. Urea is less toxic than ammonia.
