The hypersensitive response and systemic acquired resistance.

Introduction:

Hypersensitive response includes the production of free radicals near the damaged region of the plant tissue. This causes the overgrowth, strengthening and reinforcement of the plant cell wall. The dead tissue creates a hindrance and obstruction to the invasion caused by the growing pathogens. Systemic acquired response develops in the tobacco plant if a single leaf of the plant is exposed to the tobacco virus then it causes infection in the plant. If the uninfected leaves of the tobacco plant were exposed to virus, then there would be no observation of leaf spots and degradation.
