Introduction:
In mammals, viviparity evolved only once in the extant lineages about 100 million years ago. In the squamate reptiles, viviparity is believed to have evolved separately more than 100 times. A phylogenetic tree was constructed to study the evolution of a viviparous mode of reproduction from an oviparous mode, under different temperature ranges for the lizard Sceloporus.
