Introduction:

Most of the crop plants and plants undergo C₃ photosynthesis indicating that carbon compound producing during photosynthesis has 3 carbon atoms. The carbon fixing enzyme, Rubisco, present in the Calvin cycle takes O2 instead of CO₂ which is a wasteful process that happens during photorespiration. This process reduces the photosynthetic efficiency and water use. In case of high temperatures, the stomata close up to reduce water loss.
