Summary Introduction

Concept introduction: The term photoperiodism is usually used to describe the ability of a plant to flower in response to the changes in its photoperiod. Plants that flower only when the day length is less than a threshold are called short-day plants and those flower only when the day length crosses a certain threshold are called long-day plants. There are certain other groups that flowering does not depend on the day length are known as day–neutral plants.
