The direction of the induced current in below figure.

Explanation of Solution
From the Lenz’s law, the direction of induced current will be in a direction that will oppose the cause of induction.
In this case, when the bar moves as shown in the figure, the amount of magnetic field enclosed by the surface created by the bar and the rail will decrease. Hence, the induced current in the system will try to generate a magnetic field in the initial direction to oppose it.
Now, in the figure, the magnetic field is out of the paper. Hence, the induced current should also produce a magnetic field out of the paper. So, using the right-hand rule, we can say that, the induced current will be in a counter-clockwise direction.
Conclusion:
The induced current in the given system will be in a counter-clockwise direction.

- A capacitor with a capacitance of C = 5.95×10−5 F is charged by connecting it to a 12.5 −V battery. The capacitor is then disconnected from the battery and connected across an inductor with an inductance of L = 1.55 H . At the time 2.35×10−2 s after the connection to the inductor is made, what is the current in the inductor? At that time, how much electrical energy is stored in the inductor?arrow_forwardCan someone help me with this question. Thanks.arrow_forwardCan someone help me with this question.
