The birds are oviparous; hence, they lay egg. So, in the case of the bords, both parents are free to provide protection and food. So, the parental care in the bords is done by both sexes. In case of the mammals, the female members carry baby and feed. So, parental care is totally dependent on the mother, while the male members are involved in the protection of the child. So, in order to provide a complete protection, one member has to take care of it completely.
