4. In an experiment, 3.2 moles of oxygen atoms reacted with 121.3 g of calcium to form a new
compound. What is the percent composition by mass of each element in the new compound?
Ammonium nitrate is a common ingredient found in many fertilizers and is the main component that explodes when fertilizer is made explosive. Ammonium nitrate can be rendered non-explosive (and thus useless to people prone to blowing things up) by mixing it with ammonium hydrogen phosphate. One such mixture of the two compounds was found to be 30.43% nitrogen by mass. What percent of the mixture is ammonium nitrate and what percent is ammonium hydrogen phosphate?
By the way, it will be really helpful to have correct formulas for these two compounds.
28. How many oxygen atoms are in 76.3 g N½O4? Conversion must be set-up in one step using
dimensional analysis.
