Formulation of a Linear
Let “i = 1” is diagnostic services, 2 is bed day service, 3 is nursing care use and 4 is drugs supplied.
Let “xij” be the service “i” and “j” diagnostic-related groups (DRGs), for (i = 1, 2, 3, 4 and j = 1, 2, 3, 4).
The objective is to find the optimal mix of DRGs.
Therefore, the objective function to maximize the profit is,
Constraint 1:
At most, 570 hours of diagnostic service are available.
Constraint 2:
At most, 1000 bed-days are available.
Constraint 3:
At most, 50000 hours of nursing are available.
Constraint 4:
At most, 50000 dollars of drugs are available

- Clyde Clerk is reviewing his firm’s expense reimbursement policies with the new salesperson, Trav Farr. “Our reimbursement policies depend on the situation. You see, first we determine if it is a local trip. If it is, we only pay mileage of 45 cents a mile. If the trip was a one-day trip, we pay mileage and then check the times of departure and return. To be reimbursed for breakfast, you must leave by 7:00 A.M., lunch by 11:00 A.M., and have dinner by 5:00 P.M. To receive reimbursement for breakfast, you must return later than 10:00 A.M., lunch later than 2:00 P.M., and have dinner by 7:00 P.M. On a trip lasting more than one day, we allow hotel, taxi, and airfare, as well as meal allowances. The same times apply for meal expenses.” Draw a decision tree depicting the reimbursement policy in this Problem using LucidChart or Word documentarrow_forwardAssignment 2. During the winter WeeMow Lawn Service contracts with customers for cutting lawns starting in the spring. WeeMow provides service to residential and commercial customers. The service has identified 50 possible residential customers and 15 potential commercial customers it has contacted. WeeMow services a customer once every 2 weeks during the growing season. A residential lawn on average takes 1.2 hours to cut, and a commercial property requires 5 hours to cut; the service's available work time is 8 hours, 6 days per week. The purchase price is $500,000. They plan on putting a down payment of 20 percent. They are with their lender who shows the couple how much their monthly mortgage payment would be if they took out a 30-year mortgage, a 20-year mortgage, or if they took out a 15-year mortgage. The interest rate is 2.5% to take out the loan. Write a JAVA program that will help the Smiths and any other customer of the lender determine their monthly mortgage payment based on the following input: - Purchase Price - Down Payment - Loan Amount (purchase price - down payment) - Interest rate in decimal form - Number of years for mortgage The program will also include entry of the name(s) for the mortgagee (person taking out the loan for the mortgage) and the date the calculations were made. The program will also ask if the client wants to run the program again [that way the Smiths' will be able to…arrow_forwardAmarillo Video Store is planning a promotional give-away for its long-standing customers. - The calculation of the bill will be used the following rules: -The bill will be exempted for usage 20m3 and below.-For the next 15m3 is charged at 50cents/m3.-The next 20m3 is charged at 70cents for every additional m3.-The next 25m3 is charged at $1.00 for every additional m3.-Any further m3 is charged at $1.20 for every additional m3.In this case, the input can be up to 200 m3. The system only accepts the numeric(non-negative) values as the input. Other than the accepted value will be rejected by the system with an error message. The output of the system will be the total bill charged. write out equivalence partition (EP) for the above specification.arrow_forwardA company manufactures 3 products in 2 different factories. The cost of production and time required for production for each product varies depending on which factory produces it. The time and cost required for production of each product in each factory is provided in the tables in this worksheet. Demand for products 1, 2 and 3 are 200, 240 and 100 units, respectively. There are a total of 3,000 hours available in each factory. Additionally, at least 60% of the total units of Product 1 must be produced in Factory A, and at least 40% of of the total units of Product 2 must be produced in Factory B. Create a linear programming model and use the Solver add-in to determine the optimal production plan that will minimize total cost. Note: The cost is per unit not per hour. All demand must be met.arrow_forwardThe Livewright Medical Supplies Company has a total of 12 salespeople it wants to assign to three regionsthe South, the East, and the Midwest.
