Answer to Problem 1RQ

The atoms of silicon are found to be more in Earth crust, seawater and atmosphere.

Explanation of Solution

The mass percent of silicon including earth’s crust, seawater and atmosphere is 25.2%.

The mass percent of hydrogen including earth’s crust, seawater and atmosphere is 0.9%.

From the above mass percent of both elements, it is found that the mass percent of silicon is 28 times greater than the mass percent of hydrogen.  Therefore, the mass of silicon will be greater and the atoms of silicon are found to be more in Earth crust, seawater and atmosphere.
