Chapter 29, Problem 2A
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Algae are unicellular eukaryotic organisms occur most frequently in water, especially in plankton. They have no roots, stems, or leaves but chlorophyll and other pigments are well reported for carrying out photosynthesis. They specifically have grown in freshwater lakes or in saltwater oceans. They can survive in a broad range of temperatures, oxygen, carbon dioxide concentrations, acidity, and turbidity. The freely growing unicellular algae within illuminated regions of water are identified as planktonic, while those algae adhere to surfaces are known as benthic algae. As well as a verity of algae can grow on mud, stones, other algae, and plants, or animal.
