Interpretation:

Explain the biosynthesis of many key proteins in the immune system such as glycoproteins is affected by lack of essential amino acids, a low-carbohydrate diet or both.

Concept introduction:

Essential amino acids are ten amino acids which cannot be synthesized in human body in enough quantity to make proteins. Lack of these proteins affect the biosynthesis of proteins.
