Summary Introduction
To review:
The formation and functions of amnion, yolk sac, and chorion.
Introduction:
Amnion, yolk sac, and chorion are parts developed from extraembryonic membrane. Amnion is a membranous covering over the embryo and is filled with amniotic fluid. Yolk sac is a membranous layer outside the embryo that provides nourishment; it is attached to umbilical opening and the embryo's midgut. Chorion is the part outside the embryo that later develops into placenta.
