Interpretation:

It is to explain if it is possible to synthesize fatty acids of any length using the complex enzyme system participating in its synthesis.

Concept introduction:

The synthesis of fatty acids takes place in the cytoplasm using acetyl−CoA and multi enzyme system as catalyst. The new carbon atoms are added to the growing chain of fatty acids in each turn as it rotates around the multi enzyme system.
