Chapter 28, Problem 1SQ
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Many factors are required for the proper plant growth and maintenance. Nutrients that are essential to plants for their growth are called as essential nutrients. Essential nutrients are classified as macronutrients and micronutrients. Macronutrients are the nutrients that are required in higher amounts (carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorous, sulfur, potassium, hydrogen, and calcium). The micronutrients are the nutrients that are required in lesser amount (zinc, copper, boron, chlorine, manganese, iron, and molybdenum). These nutrients cannot be obtained through different sources such as water, soil, air, and through fertilizers (applied in the field) in different forms.
