Summary Introduction

To write:

All amphibians do not hatch tadpoles.

Introduction:

Small vertebrates that need a moist environment or water to survive are termed as an ‘Amphibians’. All the species like a frog, salamanders, toads, and newts, etc., can absorb and breathe water through their skin. To produce useful glands, they have specific skin glands.

An ‘aquatic larval stage’ in the life-cycle of amphibians is termed as a ‘tadpole’. Some other names of tadpole are ‘pollywog’, ‘pinkwinks’, and ‘porwigles’. They are mostly vegetarian and some of the species are cannibalistic or even carnivorous. They have short and oval bodies, small-mouth, oval bodies. The stage of the tadpole is a maximum of three years and a minimum of two weeks. For the maximum species, the tadpole phase is one to three months.

Examples of classes of amphibians are as follows:

  1. Class Anura- Toads and Frogs.
  2. Class Urodela/Caudata- Salamanders and newts
  3. Class Apoda/Gymnophiona- Caecilians.
