A total of thirty transition metals are present in the periodic table.  Among the thirty elements, the most abundant transition metal is found to be iron.  Chemical symbol for iron is Fe.  Earth’s crust contains about 4.7% by mass if iron.  Iron is present in various form of ores.  As it is easy to extract iron from its ore in large scale, the price of iron is comparatively less.  Therefore, iron is the transition metal that is most abundant.
