The plant show response to various environmental signals such as gravity, light, level of carbon dioxide, drought, touch and pathogen infection. These responses are either being short term like opening and closing of stomata or long term like plant respond towards the gravity. The plant cells perceive the stimuli by signal transduction processes which involves the binding of stimuli or a signal to the receptor and amplification of cellular responses.
