Question
Chapter 25, Problem 25.55GP
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
A diet plan for a person deficient in all amino acids that would ensure all essential amino acid has to be suggested.
Concept introduction:
Amino acids are nutritionally classified into three groups,
- Nonessential amino acids
- Conditional amino acids
- Essential amino acids.
Essential amino acids are those in which our body cannot produce them through the biochemical machinery we possess therefore it must be consumed through the food we eat.
Food combinations that contain all amino acids are called complementary sources of protein.

What is the importance of glutamic acid in the metabolism of nitrogen from amino acids? (we know therole; it’s used to remove the nitrogen from amino acids so that the remaining carbon skeleton can bebroken down by the “usual” pathways, but what is the important, unique role that only glutamicacid/glutamate can do?)
