The mechanism of the acid deposition.
Introduction:
The acid deposition or acid rain is defined as the presence of the acidic substances in the precipitation. It mainly occurs due to air pollutants, such as sulfuric acid and nitric acid.
Explanation of Solution
The chemicals coming out of many industries, vehicle and other means of fossil fuel burning can be rich in the gases like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. These gases can react to the oxygen and water present in the atmosphere and can form sulfuric acid and nitric acid and come down from the atmosphere with the water from the clouds and cause acid precipitation.
The acidic precipitation occurs due to the mixing of the water with harmful gases, which form acidic substances and come down in form of precipitation through rain, hail, snowfall, or fog.
