Chapter 2.5, Problem 1LO
Summary Introduction

To illustrate: The way by which hydrogen bonding affects the properties of water.

Introduction: Water molecules are attracted very well to each other. The positively charged (plus end) end of the hydrogen atom attaches with the negatively charged (minus end) end of the oxygen atom. This attraction forms the hydrogen bonding in the liquid water. This type of interaction is a weak interaction.

Students have asked these similar questions
Explain how hydrogen bonds between adjacent water molecules govern many of the properties of water.
Discuss the differences between ionic bonds and covalent bonds.
Clearly explain how hydrogen bonds are formed, using water as an example.  [Hint: Include the electron structure of water and include what relative electronegativities are and how they work to develop a partial + and partial - charge].
