The effects of ANP (atrial natriuretic peptide) on the GFR (glomerular filtration rate).
Introduction:
ANP represents a peptide hormone which is secreted by certain atrial cells present in the heart. It is secreted when the blood volume in the atria rises to lower the blood volume as well as the BP (blood pressure) and thereby, to reduce the heart’s workload.
