Introduction:

The urethra supports the growth of some microbiota specially Lactobacillus, Streptococcus and Staphylococcus. Occasionally other bacteria such as Mycobacterium, Fusobacterium, Bacteroides and Peptostrepto coccus species colonize the distal portion of the urethra. In both females and males, the rest of urinary organs and the urine in it lack microbes because of normally acidic $\text{pH}$ of urine and the flushing action of urination.
