In a period of two weeks, eight infants in an intensive care nursery (ICN) developed pneumonia caused by RSV. Complement fixation (CF) screening and ELISA for viral agents were performed to diagnose the infection. RSV positive patients were placed in a separate room. A two week old girl from a new born nursery adjustment to ICN, also developed an RSV infection. CF and direct ELISA test were conducted for 10 ICN staff members. ELISA-Viral antigen tests were negative. CF results were given here. Prevention of RSV infection among infants in nurseries.
