Introduction:
The development of the plants starts with the formation of the gametes. The flower which is a reproductive shoot possesses the male and female reproductive organs. The male gametes are produced inside the pollen grains and the female gamete is produced inside the ovule. The fusion of the male and female gamete leads to the process of fertilization which results in the development of the zygote. The zygote develops into the embryo which is the progenitor of the shoot and the root system of the plant.
