Introduction:
Flower patterning genes are genes that develop different whorl of flowers, such as sepals, petals, carpels, and stamens. The D genes play a role in the development of carpels and ovules. The E genes play role in the development of all whorls of the flower. When both or one of these genes is on or off, different flower pattern will form.
