Interpretation:

The two p orbitals that, in figure $\text{24-11a}$, are involved in secondary orbital overlap are to be identified, and whether those p orbitals are closer to figure $\text{24-11a}$ or figure $\text{24-11b}$ is to be explained.

Concept introduction:

The p orbital on the carbonyl carbon interacts with an unused p orbital on the diene- the secondary orbital overlap, possible in the endo product of the Diels-Alder reaction.
