The reason for not completely inhibiting the HCl (hydrochloric acid) secretion in the stomach.
Introduction:
The stomach mixes the food with saliva and gastric juice in order to form chyme. The stomach also acts as the reservoir of food before the food is released into the small intestine. The gastric juice basically consists of the HCl, pepsin, intrinsic factors, and the gastric lipase.
