To draw: The antibody-linking protein complex that could trigger endocytosis by a macrophage.
Introduction: An antigen is a large molecule. It is made up of proteins or polysaccharides. A single antigen has several binding areas known as epitopes. Each antibody attaches to a specific epitope of an antigen. The antibodies are “Y”-shaped structures. The antibodies consist of four polypeptide chains that include two identical heavy and two identical light chains. Two heavy chains are linked by a disulfide bridge. Each heavy chain is linked with one light chain by a disulfide bridge. Antibody attaches to the antigen receptor of pathogens like bacteria or virus. These chains have two regions in which one is V-Variable region and another is C-Constant region. The antigen-binding sites are found at the external ends of “variable regions” of both “light and heavy chains”.
