Introduction:

The procedure by which some kind of living cells known as phagocytes engulfs or ingests other particles or cells is known as phagocytosis. The phagocyte may be a living cell like an amoeba or a body cell like a white blood cell. In higher animals, phagocytosis is mainly a defensive mechanism in response to the invasion of the body by antigens or foreign particles or an infection.
