The structure of product for given reaction should be identified.

Concept Introduction:

Reaction between Grignard reagent and water: The Grignard reagents are generally rapidly reactive with $H_{2}O$ and results to form hydrocarbon since Grignard reagents are very strong bases.

Preparation of Grignard reagents: They are prepared by reaction of organohalide in presence $Mg$ in ether solvent.

The Grignard reaction:

Alkyl, vinyl, or aryl-magnesium halides ($\text{RMgX}$) is called as Grignard reagent.

Grignard reagent is reaction with carbonyl compound such as aldehyde or ketone, produces corresponding alcohol is the product and it is the one of the carbon – carbon bond forming reaction.
