Introduction:
Cancer is a genetic disease which occurs due to defect in a gene involved in regulation of cell number but environmental factors such as pollution, smoking cigarettes, consumption of alcohol, infectious diseases and so on acts as mutagens. These mutagens affect the tumor-suppressor genes and proto-oncogenes, leading to cancer. Therefore, the study of cancer has significance for public health as well as for the understanding of cell biology.
