The thymus is one of the lymphatic organs that produces T (thymus-dependent) cells. It is known as the primary lymphatic organ, wherein the lymphocytes are made and become matured. It comprises the reticular cells, thymic corpuscles, and developing T cells. It releases thymosin, a hormone that is involved in the development of the T cells.
